After the rival Nokia releasing its N95 with 5 Megapixel camera phone, Sony Ericsson came from to introduce the same 5 Megapixel camera in its cyber shot series. This phone is expected to launch during the season of Christmas probably during december 2007.

An overview study about the technical specifications of this phone shows that it has a XENON Flash with 16x digital zoom and auto focus. Unlike other connectivity options, this gadget contains 3G connectivity with HSDPA (fastest transfer technology). Reg Hardware reports that k850 has 40 Mb inbuilt memory but it comes bundled with a 512 Mb card.

The special feature of this camera is that it allows taking five successive pictures of a take and gives the ability to pick the best out of them. I will post more detail about the phone including its price once it is stepped into the market.

Leopards which come under wild category are not easy to be trapped or mingle with social life. From ancient time till today people use many tricks to catch animals’ especially wild animals, with the advancement in technology, the impact made some forest officials in western India to use Ringtone to capture or trap leopards. When you sneak the creativity behind this idea, the concept seems to be ultimately simple.

How the trick actually works?

Using cell phones with ringtones of cows mooing, goats bleating and roosters crowing to attract leopards, they easily make the wild cats to fall in their pit. Leopards usually roam into villages near forests in search of food and as a result they attack people, but now this method had made the officials to fetch the leopards easily. This is one of a best usage of technology while people on other side misusing cell phones like mms scandals, pranks etc.

<o> </o>Vasani, one of a forest official said forest guards have downloaded the sounds of over a dozen animals as ringtones on their mobiles which they attach to speakers and fix behind a cage.

Yahoo news also reports that activists welcomed the new initiative saying that previous methods of trapping the cats using pits often resulted in the animals getting injured. Hope PETA promotes this step every where for the better care of animals.

Last week while attending our college magazine function, an officer from Planning commission has been invited as Chief Guest. He was giving several lectures about the recent developments in science and technology based on India and so on. Well the shocking or surprising news to share with all of you is that Government of India has plans to give “Free Internet All over India” within few months. Does that sound great? Also he added that the highest revenue is from the field of Information and Technology, lol I am studying for that… but the reality is that everyone is focusing towards the same field so in order to divert the minds and bring new opportunities in other field; the government has implemented many schemes for R&D (Research and Development Sector), especially R&D in biotechnology.

Ok I am going off the topic, I myself still cannot believe the news of free internet during that time when all of a sudden a guy raised a question asking that India is still lacking in giving high bandwidth to their consumers where other countries get a whooping mbps for a normal rate while this is happening in India how are they able to give free internet?

The guest thought for a while and answered that India is a largest country with millions of population, there are villages which still don’t even get telephone connections but we are using Internet vastly especially the traffic contribution from India is really high, how is it possible ?

This is another reason why we still lack in advancement of communication but our scientist have recently able to transfer date rate up to a terabyte per second (not sure about it but he added this). Even India produced three super computers which we might have not heard or it might be kept confidential. But the plans of Free Internet Connection seem to be on progress and will be launched in quite few months. When thinking from a positive angle there is no surprise or obstacle to believe this thing, since the recent advancements had made the internet and its technology a whooping success.

Lets wait and watch beside ….

Overview:
A peer-to-peer (or P2P) relies on the computing power in which clients provide the resources, including bandwidth, storage space and so the file transfer speed would probably be higher. Although there is no single server involved in this protocol but factors like denial of data transfer speed due to increased rate of users downloading the same file from the source is possible.

To overcome this problem, one research team found a technique called SET (Similarity-Enhanced Transfer) that claims to speed up P2P downloads by anywhere from 30 to 70 percent by increasing the potential sources of files being downloaded.

How SET Works?

Their idea is simply superb and embedded in their tag itself! Yeah I am talking about “SIMILARITY”. Actually what similarity has to do with boosting up the transfer speed? My answer is that it has many. Consider this example that while you are searching for music data in p2p you come across many sources of the same file. So we had the option to download from the list of sources available.

When you compare the sources, the data you want to download is absolutely similar but only thing that differs is their tags, titles or sometimes the versions. By identifying the identical data, SET searches for similar files by “handprinting,” method that is similar to the pattern matching techniques which after identifying are scanned for any individual chunks that are identical to pieces of the file being downloaded.

After identifying them, SET expands the available sources of any given file. By this process “SET helps us to download a 30MB movie trailer in only a third of the time whereas the rate of an MP3 download is increased by 70 percent” says Arstechnica.

Future Applications:

Seem like all Future peer 2 peer will implement this technique in their system. You can know more about how this system works by visiting here.

The flash memory of 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB is the only difference for these NW-A805, A806, and A808 series. When exploring the online Sony store it was found that the price ranges from €119 to €150. This walkman box has a 2” LCD display by which you can view videos either horizontal or vertical. This walkman supports playback of audio formats like Windows Media Audio, MP3 and WAV files while video formats like MPEG4 H.264/AVC.<o :p="">
</o>

Many geeks proclaim this box to be a rival for Apple’s I-Pod but I strongly disagree. Although they are in the parallel business the functionality and performance of both the devices is completely unique. Sony Promised to ship this product in the forth coming month of April.

Like Apple I-pod these box can play pod cast or simply from your camcorder to watch your home videos on the run. This walkman is also powered by sound technologies like Clear Bass, Clear Stereo, WM-port, connect with 13.5mm EX headphones.

Can you believe that now you can store your valuable data, music, videos in a paper ? With the Revolution in Technology there are new inventions day by day which changes our lifestyle completely and that’s how Sainul Abideen of <st1 :place=""></st1><st1 :placename="">MES </st1><st1 :placename="">Engineering</st1> <st1 :placetype="">College </st1>have. His Rainbow Technology, a structure and technique for data that can be stored on normal paper.

What is Rainbow Technology ?<o :p=""></o>

Rainbow technology is a method or technique by which data can be stored in an ordinary paper and retrieved later with the help of a scanner. Sainul calls the storage medium as Rainbow Versatile Disc (RVD) which believed to be store upto 450GB of data.

Cost and Performance:

Wonder how much a CD / DVD cost nowadays ? Basically a DVD cost around Rs.20 and a CD for rs.10 but this RVD will cost not more than Rs.2, The cost is absolutely very low when compared to other storage medium. Also the storage capacity is 130 times more.

Behind the Technology:

Sainul has completely changed the Zero’s and One’s Computing instead he uses a geometric shapes combining various colours. His new format is called ‘Rainbow Format’

Advantages and Highlights:<o :p=""> </o>

Nature of this storage medium is Biodegradable and Eco-Friendly

Magazines like Digit, Chip etc can attach Data in a tearable sheet

Rainbow Cards that is equal to sim card size can store 5 GB of data that cost 50 paise.<o :p=""></o>

The Future:

Mr.Sainul is working with a project called Databank that reduces the server demand which costs upto Rs.25,000 crores to just Rs.35 lakh. He promises that his DataBank will meet the 123.60 Peta Byte (PB) capacity Demand.

The great news for all the BSNL BroadBand Customers is that its going to offer high speed internet broadband connectivity to its subscribers. According to The Hindu Report, BSNL Telecom Service which is offering a maximum of 256 kbps internet connectivity to its subscribers will offer upto 2mbps connectivity.

Mr.Maran has announced this at the India Telecom 2006 conference. The main bit is that BSNL would offer high speed broadband at the existing price.

Transforming the telecom connectivity into a network to provide seamless access between the knowledge creators/converters and knowledge consumers.
- A. P. J Abdul Kalam at India Telecom 2006 Conference.

I personally feel that this great upgrade is silently impacting the Vision 2020 of India. Maybe people who are using 256kbps connection already enjoyed downloading movies, games and other stuffs although they have some download limit but using the no count timings.

This upgrade will surely influence other Internet Service providers in India and hurray i think my service provider will do something to compete BSNL. But recently a French telecom and internet service provider decided to provide 2GB per second connectivity to all its customers.

Anyways this was just a great news for users like us,now the chance of exploring Internet has widenup and surely webmasters like me love to see traffic in our site.

Wibree wirelessly connects mobile devices and pc’s to small size devices, such as watches, wireless, keyboards, toys and sports sensors.

What is Wibree ?
Wibree is a radio technology that operates within a short range (10 meters / 30 feet) based around low-cost transceiver microchips in each device. This technology is designed for ultra low power consumption (button cell battery) with power consumption as its key design requirement.

Relationship of Wibree an Bluetooth:
The main relationship of Wibree to Bluetooth is that it can be interoperabile with Bluetooth by Dual-mode implementation which will greatly extend the functionality of Bluetooth. Although Wibree can be used as an alternative to Bluetooth but Wibree’s power consumption will reduce as data transfer increases.

Technical Specifications:
Wibree technology complements close range communication with Bluetooth like performance within 0-10 m range and data rate of 1 Mbps. It is optimized for extremly low power, small size and low cost. Wibree enables or extends Bluetooth’s capability to connect new range of small devices.

Recently Nokia has introduced Wibree has their open Industry local connectivity initiative.

The technology will be made broadly available to the industry through an open and preferably existing forum enabling wide adoption of the technology.

from the Wibree Press Room.

As we were talking about some tech issues he directed me to a site called QuilliPad which is brother was working with. After visiting the site, the first thing i discovered is that “Typing Indian Language text” has never been this easier”.

QuilliPad of Tachyon Technologies is a web-based site that displays any text entered in language based English to your desired language. Currently it allows you to type in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam. The interface and usability is very friendly. Currently this site is compatible with Internet Explorer 6.0 and above but it works fine in Firefox too.

Sometimes things gonna mess up in our computer, generally everyone backs up important files as CD / DVD or even store them in Computer, but i dont believe in this tatics. My only backup is Internet and i regurarly backup all my files in internet. You can ask me whats the benefit in doing so .. yes some of the benefits in online file storage are

Retrive it whenever you want

No loss or maintainence of Data

Recover it wherever you want

Share the data with others

The above are some of the resons why i store my data online, ok now come to the part you can ask me where you can store your data and i assure you that i will help you to allocate a maximum of 1Gb Space for storing your Valuable Data. Yeah and they are free. Some of the sites which i recommend gives you 1Gb Free Storage to save your valuable files, photos, movies, videos etc.

MOZY:

Mozy is a free remote backup utility that will automatically backsup all the files you represent and allows you to store upto 2GB of files. You need to install a tool from thier site which will occasionally backsup your computer and if your computer messes up it recovers your important files from their server.

BOX:

Box is a free online storage site by which you can access important files in any computer, share photos and big files, Sync and Backup folders. They give you 1Gb Free space to store your files.

E-snips:

E-snips also gives a storage limit of 1Gb and lets you upload and share anything you want. You can even control who shares it and how they use it.

It was on thursday when i was in bangalore, i had a fight with my friend sagar regrading an argument on expansion of a brand named KFC which we saw in Bangalore Forum. I am a Peta member and i know KFC is Kentucky Fried Chicken but my friend argued its Kennedy Fried Chicken since he is a Bangalore Native and a regular vistor of the forum.

He added postive tags to his argument with reasons like native of bangalore and also told me that his friends too said him once that KFC is kennedy fried chicken, but in my inner thought i seem like correct because i remember having a free promotional sticker from peta on KFC. But since the Arguement is favouring him, atlast we decided to find the answer by refering Internet. I navigated to Wikepedia website and entered KFC. The First Result appeared is Kentucky Fried Chicken and i won.. Wikepedia is the best encyclopedia i experienced ever. By using Wikepedia you can find the company logo, founder, expansions easily and clearly.

below are the some of the Expansions i found using Wikepedia

FCUK – French Connection in United Kingdom

JVC – Victor Company of Japan

BMW – Bayerische Motoren Werke

CII – Confederation of Indian Industry

HSBC – Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation
