R15 a bike with just 149 CC around 70CC less than Dtsfi got a top speed of 140 (not claimed by Yamaha but achieved by rides on road!!!) I call that technological marvel and that too with a safe vibration free ride!!!!

And those who think its an overpriced machine…guys u r ignorant about the technology that bike is having under the fiber faring (not cheap plastic)

1. Engine is a liquid cooled single cylinder engine (Bajaj 220 dtsfi has similar technology but the radiator Yamaha uses is a special compact radiator developed by Yamaha racing and work at least twice better than pulsar’s

2 engine is an all aluminum unit with 4 valves (not usual two like all other bikes in india) ensuring it delivers high and smooth power even with a 150 cc engine (not 220 or 225 like pulsar dtsfi and karizma)

3. the pistons used in engine are forged using Yamahas proprietary technology that creates lite but much more efficient and long lasting all aluminum pistons (all other Indian bikes including karizma and pulsar use iron mixed pistons. compared to R1-5s, its outdated technology)

4 All aluminum engine offers a much more efficient heat dispersion almost 3.1 times higher than any other bike engine on any other Indian bike ensuring a much smoother vibration free high power ride even in long distance high speed rides.

5 Engine contains a very higher percentage of silicon ensuring it doesn’t heat up even at very long or high revving rides.

6. Frame is a delta box frame in which engine is mounted with rigid connectors(because the engine is drastically vibration less this is possible) making the engine work like a member of frame offering superior handling capabilities and cornering under highs speeds (no other indian bike(karizma or pulsar) can match this technology)

7. front suspension is telescopic and rear is mono cross type cross linked suspension preventing dipping when riding in tandem (the other so called perfo bikes in India can only dream of the technology Yamaha do have in this machine)

8. The bike do look bit awkward from rear because of the thin back wheels but the road grip and cornering ability that wheel offers is unmatched by the the tires or karizma or pulsar it was made especially for R15 by MRF engineers using specially developed rubber components and with close study of handling and riding characteristics of R15

9. if u think that it requires a higher CC bike to offer a better ride or top speed then ur ignorant about the whole 2 wheeler mechanics and physics

10. Ducati do have a 125 CC machine in Italy which does a top speed of 170 KMS /HR (well do pulsar want to send their 220CC machine to compete there??? I don’t think so.)
My point is CC is not the only measure that makes a bike superior

R15 can slay Pulsar DTSFi and Karizma on a race track any day hands down…. its just a much much more superior machine packed with yamahas technology that they use in machines like R1 and the motoGP winning type machines…R15 is a miniature R1…lets just accept tht our indigenous pulsar and karizma is no match for it (karizma is not fully indigenous it has a Honda engine)

It is not an overpriced machine. before we comment that way just consider tht CC of bikes engine just do more study about the core technology that goes in to the making and also of the patented technologies and methods that went in to forge the bike…obviously the manufacturer is going to charge u for all the research they have done…still want to think that its over priced? yeah right!
