Free Internet all over India?

Last week while attending our college magazine function, an officer from Planning commission has been invited as Chief Guest. He was giving several lectures about the recent developments in science and technology based on India and so on. Well the shocking or surprising news to share with all of you is that Government of India has plans to give “Free Internet All over India” within few months. Does that sound great? Also he added that the highest revenue is from the field of Information and Technology, lol I am studying for that… but the reality is that everyone is focusing towards the same field so in order to divert the minds and bring new opportunities in other field; the government has implemented many schemes for R&D (Research and Development Sector), especially R&D in biotechnology.
Ok I am going off the topic, I myself still cannot believe the news of free internet during that time when all of a sudden a guy raised a question asking that India is still lacking in giving high bandwidth to their consumers where other countries get a whooping mbps for a normal rate while this is happening in India how are they able to give free internet?
The guest thought for a while and answered that India is a largest country with millions of population, there are villages which still don’t even get telephone connections but we are using Internet vastly especially the traffic contribution from India is really high, how is it possible ?
This is another reason why we still lack in advancement of communication but our scientist have recently able to transfer date rate up to a terabyte per second (not sure about it but he added this). Even India produced three super computers which we might have not heard or it might be kept confidential. But the plans of Free Internet Connection seem to be on progress and will be launched in quite few months. When thinking from a positive angle there is no surprise or obstacle to believe this thing, since the recent advancements had made the internet and its technology a whooping success.
Lets wait and watch beside ….

I doubt it will ever come true
Free means they will not charge the monthly rent … rest I guess they will charge … otherwise India will go in bankruptcy!
Anyways, how you find this RISHI INTERNET CENTER snap?

But how do the companies support themselves? Aid from Govt?
Or may be ad-supported…..
I’ll watch any no. of ads to get off my crappy BSNL Dataone and get a stinkin’ 2Mbps unlimited connection for free

hope it comes true but even if it comes true, the internet is going to be super slow.Many people do nt connect o internet because of costly plans but if it is free then a large population will come to feed on it.There will be no difference between today’s 128 kbps onnection and that time’s 1 mbps connection.I have got sify broadband in which I have to pay 570/month and my plan is of 64 kpbs ( 7 or 8 kbps in reality ) and I get 150 mb per day.It is super slow.I am not at all satisfied.
I don’t think free will be possible because if so then India can go bankrupt.

free internet still seems like a distant dream though it would be of a lot of help since my net’s being taken away this month cuz of the sky high bills ( damn these reliance people, charging me for nothing!!!) and that too when i need it most for research and other studies.
i hope the govt opens their eyes to this situation soon..

great news what i think daily. I am alwase in search for free internet. Some years before i already use free internet of caltiger.com but it charges our phone bill wht we use. recently i use some wi-fi. i am in search any tools we increase my laptops wi-fi range. if anybody know then reply me

I hope it will surely happen in future. But you can research and free internet access trials you know I have used free for 4 years on mobile with bsnl and 1 year on reliance 2g and 3G . But now all the tricks had been banned. .i know there is always at one trick is available for those who can’t pay. . Now I am using paid internet. But if you know any kind of free internet access please mail me meghraj4th[-@-]gmail.com.
