    Yes Guys lets cheer up the news is a reported by The Hindu and also it was announced in TV ! So there are reasons to believe it…

    Yeah, The report looks authentic for me, but it will surely take more time to come. Say next 5 – 6 years or so. By that time the world will be enjoying 107 GBps

    5-6 years is much wider and some sources said that bsnl began offering 2mbps in Mumbai and Delhi it seems, reported that they can a 300kbps download speed and 256 kbps upload speed with bandwidth speed of 2000kbps

    Dec 24th, 2006

    Wow.. Good to know. Then I think it may not take any longer. BTW at this speed we could download a CD in just about a hour.

    Cool

    they did it ..but not for home 900 i always exceeded my limit when i was using 500 line….good thing i changed it….an 8fold increase in bandwidh to a 2fold increase in download limit that sucks!!!!! …..any kind of limit sucks
    internet is like a necessity for me it cant be bounded by any kind of limit

    Guys,

    I stay in Koramangala, tel 25527936, bandwidth has not upgraded from 256Kbps to 2Mbps. I have D-Link GLB-502T with Netgear. Is someone getting 2Mbps from koramangala exchange? Also, do I need to change some setting on ADSL modem?

    actually there wont be any difference in browsing but to confirm that you have upgraded try downloading a file more than 90mb and check the download time… it will reliably be faster..

    you don’t have to change u r adsl modem in this case.. if you cannot experience the download speed change then its due that your location koramangala in bangalore will be updated soon…

    1st STEP
    first we want to do
    first change ur ip from dynamic to static ip address
    to do this
    goto ->control panel->network and internet connections->network connections->local area network->properties->general tab->internet protocol (tcp/ip)->properties
    enable “use the following ip address” radio button
    type ip address as 192.168.1.2 ,
    subnetmask as 255.255.255.0 ,
    default gateway as 192.168.1.1 and
    preffered dns server as 208.67.222.222
    alternate dns server as 208.67.220.220

    press ok to close internet protocol properties window and local area connection window….

    2nd STEP

    then
    goto ur browser page (type 192.168.1.1 in ur browser and give username and password as admin)
    goto->advanced setup->NAT->DMZ Host……
    in DMZ Host ip address (type ur static ip) 192.168.1.2
    press save/aplly button

    3rd step
    opening a port in ur firewall:
    before doing the following steps make sure that ur firewall is ON
    goto ->control panel->network and internet connections->network connections->local area network->properties->advanced tab->windows firewall settings->exceptions
    press addport button
    give anyname u want and portnumber as 8080(u shld give the same port number in bittorrent) and press ok………

    4th STEP
    if u want to download in the movies in toreent follow this step

    finally in bittorrent or Utorrent
    press preferences tab
    in “connection” give 8080 as ur portnumber in “port used for incoming connections”
    disable “randomize port each time bittorrent starts”
    max upload speed =20-40 kbps
    alternate upload speed=10kbps
    in “bittorrent” set 2000 as ur global max no. of connections
    max no.of connected peers per torrent as 2000,

    Hi,

    Is this going to apply for the existing unlimited plans(like UL 750)?

    @ 26. PRASANNA KUMAR

    Step 1:
    IP address as 192.168.1.2 will not work on some of the routers that have USB connectivity in addition to ethernet.
    Use something like 192.168.1.20 for better compatibility.

    Step 2:
    The DMZ is to be used only for web servers and stuff. It completely overrides any security that NAT provides.

    Step 3:
    Same as above. Allowing incoming connections to port 8080 directly is a bad idea.

    Step 4:
    Setting 2000 max connections per torrent will increase overhead considerably and thus decrease speed. Use the calculator:
