CBZ Xtreme from the makers of CBZ
Biking is my passion but i am not a power biker having those imported bikes, just do some normal stunts. There’s a huge competition among bike marketers in India but this would surely discourage mass transist which leads to over traffic and accidents. Each and every house owns atleast a bike. Well that doesn’t matter but i am here to tell you about a brand new bike called CBZ X-treme from the makers of CBZ.
You can see the ads in televisions now. With much eagerness i was trying to get a pic of that bike, but searched all over internet and could’nt find one. If you miss the Ad of CBZ extreme you can visit their website in which they have placed two promotional videos.
Check the Full Bike Picture here at Sushubh’s Photostream. Photo Source Insanity Rediscovered.

Regrading the bike, there have been some rumours going on that it would be around 150-200 cc but the ad makes me sense like it would be more than 150 cc. By the way i believe CBZ Extreme is just a modified CBZ.
Do you think CBZ Extreme would hit Pulsar Dts-I 220 cc’s market ?.

Hey guys, There are more than a million Pulsar on roads, and everybody knows Pulsars are dud after 15K/20K kms. The engine makes all noises and gearbox sucks even on brand new Pulsar. That’s hallmark of Bajaj’s shame.
Hero Honda is reputed bike maker and people have voted it to No.1 slot since two decades. Bajaj survives on hypes and false ads. Platina ad shows 108 kmpl. but according to overdrive, 100cc mileage champ is CD Dawn at 73.2 kmpl.
Hero Honda are the guys who got 4S technology to India and there after they have dominated market for 2 decades. Bajaj and TVS are shameless desi companies just copying tech from their ex-couterparts. Bajaj is out of 100cc, TVS is seeling on DHoni fever.
TVS and Bajaj owners have a million reason to tease CBZ xtreme, but this machine is awesome. Atleast Hero Honda will ensure super engine and gearbox in place which are durable and long lasting. Pulsar gearbox sucks and it’s engine makes all dirty noises. Truely it’s for hooligans and not for good humans

Hondas are champs in bike technology, Honda R&D have come with an innovative fuel injection for small engines and it has lent it to Hero Honda and is the best FI on earth. Bajaj is getting some cheap technology and I guess they are faced with many problems. It was in May it was seen on Chakkan test tracks, why the hell it is not coming out of factory? Hero Honda introduced FI on Glam in matter of few months and it the smoooothest bike in India and beats CD100 Dawn in mileage departments.
Buy a Honda or buy few versions of Bajaj and still loose

Sankar Anand on 01. November 2006 at 4:51 pm
@ Shetty
i accept bajaj is a show off company… they will launch a bike if it goes down in the market they will modify it and launch another model like what they did to ct100.and changed to platina… Bajaj is fit to place only good ads but shetty coming to TVS i tell you TVS is a standard company not like bajaj. they have thier own reputation and quality….

Hi,
The new modified CBZ looks unique in its design , the only point we people tend to do is compare.Lets not compare this new one with the Classic model. It is going to be a LongLasting Model of the Year thats for sure.

I test rode a CBZ Extreme a couple of days back… The feel of it is awesome…
Happens to be a good creation… It took me 14 secs to rouse the monster from 0 to 90km .. on intermediate ring road at bangalore… I am not a good rider and am sure most other riders will do it well… But I did a few checks and like to discuss it…
At 85Km I decided to bring the bike to 3rd gear and see the barking of it -> Pulled in smoothly …
I tried to pick it up from 20 km on the top gear -> pulled in smoothly…
The swing at some of the majestic circular bends did well
Picked the bike on my foot and did 360 degree turn on my foot fro abt 7/8 turns … awesome feel
I am not sure about milage and otehr stuffs … but surely its great … on the same day i test rode apache / achiever / glamour / zeus … etc etc … they all s**ked infront of this …
i suggest the lovers of karizma who dont have the money (like me:) ) to go for this one ..
it rocks dude … i read a few bad reviews about it .. but still tested it … the only thing i can say about those bad reviews is …. i pity u guys …
hoping for it to releae soon in bangalore … the millenium motors ppl said that the rto approval is due and expected to arrive in atleast another 15 days - 1 month /// thats the most sadening issue .. i cant wait to ride it …
PS .. another issue .. i am planning to buy a blue one … the shop guys told me .. it would take some more time coz theyve got only erad/black ones …

anybody has experience . . . in both guide me

Shekhoo S Raja on 08. December 2006 at 8:54 pm
I have driven both pulsar and CBZ a lot(have been drivin the extreme from last 3 days!!).
And to be short i will flatly say that Xtreme is far better. Am totally confident on this.
So cut the confusion.

Very nice machine, my comments after test riding the Xtreme this afternoon. Important thing is aHero Honda has priced it low compared to other bikes to push sales….I’m sure if sales increases expect the price also to increase…after all good quality bikes comes at cost..people buying now are lucky !!

Guys Guys Guys ! ! !
I have got that new Black Tornado…
“C B Z X-Treme”
Believe the bike is awesome…
Yes it is 150 cc bike but when u ride it..its nothing less then a tornado feel…
Incomparable
The problem is that people are comparing it with its previous version…
W H Y the H E L L ! ! !
Anyways, I found many of you guys doubting its performance and average…
The bike give an average of around 50km/lt (tested thrice on my bike)
So….thrs wht r u waiting 4…
Get the Tornado home…before its prices rise…as expected because its demand is high and production is less…

Riaz on 08. June 2007 at 3:19 pm
I will come directly to the point.
I have a CBZ Xtreme and following are my reviews and reasons why i have got it.
1.Looks(Most hot topic abt CBZX): If you have seen only pic of the bike,i swear not to go by
pics. Goto a showroom and have a close look at the bike you will find the difference. More you see it the more you love it. Many said that Headlamp looks odd, some say its as fusion between few bike’s headlights, I dont think so, observe keenly, Headlamp is completely different from any other bike, and coming to embedded indicators, its better to have embedded rather than hanging when they are broken(usually seen in pulsars & discover nore),
am i right? and this is my bet to you all after you see the bike closely not in pic…you will find the difference.
2. Performance: When comes to performance i have seen no one wants to compare their bikes(pulsars especially) with CBZ Xtreme. All pulsar owners can only speak abt looks, nothing else. 149.2CC, 14.4BHp, 0-60 4.8 Sec, Max 115kmph. any pulsar(150cc,180cc) owner can compete with me in accelaration, top speed, balance, handling, road grip with me.
Most reviews here are only on looks, observe keenly. not on performance. when come to journey finally it comes to performance not looks, am i right?
in CBZ-Xtreme Speedometer you wont find usual economy zone indicator(Green color between 40-55kmph, i hope you all know what does this mean, Its a pure powerbike not concentrating on mileage.
But………CBZ-X gives 50kmpl in city roads. better than old CBZ’s 35kmpl and competetive with pulsars 52kmpl.
I have driven new Pulsar 150cc (more than 1000KM) with so called advanced features like digital console and etc. not much of difference between old pulsar. Just makes a sound as of 150cc bike, but can compete with Bajaj Discover, Super splendour( this is better than pulsar cos, comparing with pulsar, super splendour easily touches 70kmph in 3rd gear, give a try and see). its a just old pulsar with cosmetic changes which has lost its exclusivity( i hope what does this mean). uses some hi-fi DTSI terms no one knows what it does!, Observe any pulsar’s rear mud-gaurd, its shakes so much that it may fall any time. at 90kmph pulsar nice massager with good vibrations but Xtreme is stable still at 115kmph.
another compared feature is weight: more heavy your bike more road grip you get. any how CBZ is not for a 5ft to 5′8″ guy.
after driving both the bike these are my feed back on CBZ-X and Pulsar 150cc, lets go in detail
Maker:
HH: Known for its quality bikes and good maintanance.
Bajaj: What can you expect from 3 Wheeler manufracturer, pulsar is well known for gear problems, metal fatigue, dangerous fuel tank design, getting offbalance when dics brakes are used.
Engine:
CBZ-X: 149.2cc, 14.4Bhp @ 8000rpm (best in its segment), Topspeed @ 115kmph(best in its segment),0-100kmph 19.2 sec(best in its segment),0-60kmph 4.8sec(best in its segment), Mileage 50kmpl in City, 61kmpl Highways, alloy wheels with tuffup tubes, Disc Brake system, LED Tail Lamp, Multi Reflector Head lamp
New Pulsar 150cc: 149.8cc, 13.8Bhp @ 8000rpm, Topspeed 110kmph (if you try more than that, handle will be in you hand , not attacked with the bike), 0-100kmph 22.1 sec, 0-60kmpg 5.3 sec, Mileage 50kmpl in city, 60kmpl on highways, allow wheels, Disc Brake, LED Tail Lamp, Multi Reflector Head lamp
Looks: This is the only place where pulsar can compete with CBZ-X, i find both look good, but if want to be in the crowd go for pulsar. as far my knowledge apache and unicorn are good looking bikes too. Again , dont go by the pictures, goto showroom and have a look.
Handling:
Before starting this, have you performed this test on you bike before buying it?
Do this, Ride your bike at 30-40kmph speed and leave handle, is you bike still going in straight line or swaying?
CBZ-X: CBZ-X goes in a straight line, No skidding even at turns at 100kmph, Cruise thru city traffic easily, Easy braking, since the riding postion in CBZ-X is designed so that you lean forward like in racing bikes, that will help you in easily applying brakes.
New Pulsar 150cc: Does Pulsar goes in straight line in above test? Know for its dangerous fuel tank design, If hope your “Definitely Male ” thing may be lost if you use disc brake at high speed in this bike. Riders easily fall when u use disc brake at low speeds too. known for getting off balance at steep turns, Due to its low wheel displacement.
Comfort:
One more test here, check the angle at your hip horizontal to bike, when you sit on the bike.
CBZ-X: you are leaning on to the bike, and you are in comfortable postion, this is same as in any racing bike. you can observe 70 Degree to 80 Degrees angle at your hip.
New Pulsar 150cc: stiff at 90 Degrees, easy back ace with in minutes.
I’ve got still more points ….but first let me get any feedback on my reviwes..i will answer each of your queries

AND I DID’NT FIND IT COMFORTABLE AS ITS QUITE SHORT DEN CBZ….I’M 6′FEET AND IS FELT VERY UNCOMFORTABLE DRIVING THE BIKE,APPLYNING BRAKES AND CHANGING GEARS… CBZ X IS MY FIRST BIKE… N I’M REALLY FELLING GREAT AS I OWE THE BEST BIKE IN THE 150CC SEGMENT….MY FRIEND WHO OWES A PULSAR HAS GEAR BOX PROBS… THE HANDLING OF XTREME IS AWESOME… I USED THE DISC-BREAKS AT 40KM…..THE BIKE WAS STILL IN CONTROLL…..I LOVE DAT…..ITS SO EASY TO CONTROLL IN CITY…..

Swiss welcomes every xtreme guys.Xtreme is awesome.I m a speed-lover guy and thy i’ve decided to buy the sport machiene. Its a total powerbike.I,ve two friends who are the owners of pulsar 150cc.We guys like to roam with our machienes in the nite. After 9.00 pm the traffic gets reduces & there begins the time for speeding. We three r speed lovers and thy we have decided to take a race in the road ranging between 3-4 km.After starting of race & crossing 2 kms we r in same level speed ranging between 50-55(simple).Then 1 of the pulsar increased its speed to nearly 60-65,and by checking this out i’ve also increased, the the other pulsar is also nearby to me.Then i’ve noticed he is increasing his speed and reached a little bit front from me.I get warmed and increased my throttle in the 50-50 position and believe it or not my speed increased to 80-85 within 2-3 secs. Then showing them the thumb down symbol i reached to the end.Believe it or not i get bulked with pride within myself. What to tell to them coz they r also close friends of mine.Anyway thy guys its really an extreme machiene, take a test ride and check that machiene urselves.Good luck.

rock on 10. August 2007 at 4:58 pm
all you guys are making me laugh. from the opinions you all left behind it clear as a day that none of have driven the new pulsar 150. the problems with gearbox was in old 150 which had all down type of gearshift. the new one has the 1 down 4 up type of shift which is common for all other 150cc bikes. so gearbox problem is solved dudes.
the problems with disc braking???? seriously asking, do you know anything about biking? even a 10 year old knows what DISC brakes mean. its quite different than the old drum brakes in terms of working and effectiveness. what all of were bitching about was a beginners syndrome with disc brakes. those who are not familiar with disc brakes use them as they would a drum brake without realising its power. i have seen some guys almost falling off while coming to a stop in pulsars because they pull the brake lever as they do in old bikes to come to a full stop. instead the tyre just locks up (coz speed was below 20km and they pulled hard) and skids. once you get the hang of it, it will never happen again. believe me, it is not for rough use, just a slight touch is all that is required to stop the vehicle.
pulsars disc brake is the top of the segment in 240mm. but in 150cc segment, apache has introduced 270mm petal type disc which is rumoured to be more effective than those of pulsar. i can just imagine all you guys trying on apache and falling face first when the bike under you stops exactly at the point where you applied the brakes.
as for engine, first learn the full forms of DTS-i and CDI and then talk.
i test drove CBZ Xtreme today and as most of you said the bike is good. very powerful, and handling is smooth. but on looks it fails. i honestly liked pld CBZ better. this ones front is too ordinary, and rear to doesn’t look anything new. i was planning to buy it, but now i think pulsar will be a better choice. though bajaj is not as reputed as hero honda, it hasn’t topped the 150cc segment for last 6 years on advertisements alone. the bike feels nice, and looks are modern. well lets just say everyone to their own peril.

LONG LIVE CBZ and its makers. CBZ is the best bike in 150 cc segment, no doubt about it - and any rhetoric about the sucking pulsar is only fake. I’m sure Bajaj is goin to be out of business and even bankrupt when Pulsar start showin its ugly face 2 year down the line when cbz can only prosper. buy a CBZ like me and live life happily………..

hi friends,
i have read each and every comment on every bike of 150 cc and above. After seeing every comment i checked pulsar 150cc and cbz extreme and found the engine is smooth in cbz extreme and in unicorn rathe rthan in pulsar 150cc and apache.
I got a new cbz extreme in march 2008 . and i feel proud in buying the bike . with me also my friends bought the bike’s like pulsar , unicorn , apache but in speed and looks CBZ Extreme is the best when we have a poll in our company .
when comes to the millage unicorn comfortably gives 60 kmplwhere as others give 50-55 kmpl .
we op’t 150cc for power and speed so there no point of millage so friends go for CBZ Extreme because it’s smooth and powerful in it’s drive .
pulsar and apache gives sound in the engine and getting problems after 2000 km’s and design is too bad and not suitable for long rides.

Hey guys I have a CBZ xtreme and I think it is awesome in matter of pickup it reaches to a speed of 60kmph in just 5 seconds and has the best pickup in its class. the new model of pulsar has a 13bhp engine which sucks in front of a 14.4bhp engine of cbz but if you want a 150cc bike with good mileage opt for a HONDA Unicorn

I really gone through all reviews by all intelligent people.
Actually I wanted to buy CBZ Extreme but have one doubt.
I just wanted to know one thing… how is the control of this bike, I am actually not so tall .. 5.6 only, so wanted to know whether I will be able to drive this vehicle comfortably.
Can we adjust the height of thix CBZ Extreme
